It is starting to look a little like springtime on campus. Some (but certainly not all!) trees are starting to bud...
...and the groundhogs that live in the courtyard between the Engineering A and D wings and the civil engineering lab are starting to come out.
Won't be long before there are little baby groundhogs scampering about.
I'm still working out the best ways to use this fancy new camera we got for Christmas. Its depth of field can produce some interesting effects, but the autofocus is sometimes a little too smart for its own good. But the 12x optical zoom is great for snapping photos of shy groundhogs. The little critters on campus are very skittish, and the one above ran to the entrance to its hole as I walked by at a distance of twenty feet or so.
